Orientation Session for Volunteer Interns

The volunteer interns selected under the Youth Holiday Volunteer Operation were officially welcomed on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the annex building of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education in Nlongkak. The orientation session was conducted by the team led by Dr. Edíake Enang Daniel, Director of Youth Social Integration and Volunteering (DISJEV).

The session marked the official start of the Youth Holiday Voluntary Service, one of MINJEC’s flagship initiatives designed to foster active citizenship, patriotism, civic responsibility, social cohesion, and youth employability.

Beyond offering practical learning opportunities during the holiday period, the program seeks to instill civic values such as discipline, solidarity, integrity, teamwork, respect for diversity, and selfless service. In his remarks, Dr. Edíake Enang Daniel emphasized that Cameroon needs committed, innovative, and responsible citizens capable of transforming challenges into opportunities. The initiative, he noted, is not only a platform for youth engagement but also a vital tool for strengthening social cohesion and preparing the next generation of leaders.

The orientation session thus set the tone for a season of meaningful service, where young volunteers will contribute to community development while embodying the values of civic responsibility and national unity. By engaging in the Youth Holiday Voluntary Service, they will not only serve their nation but also grow into citizens capable of shaping a stronger and more cohesive Cameroon.
